Set Up Staff
The thing about parties is that they are a lot of work. Both before and afterwards but especially before, parties take the time to get right. And the thing is - they live and die on the preparation. In terms of the preparation, there are different types. If you are an ideas person then you will curate the room, pick the music and get the food and drink right. However, if you are a busy body then you will be setting up the bunting, getting the chairs organised and making sure that there is a program on every seat, gifts in every box, name tags at every space.
We have all heard the cheeky line: fashionably late. This is something that people use to describe guests who tend to show up for the party when it is already in full swing to make sure that they are not hanging around before the party gets started. It is a trick which means that everyone is waiting for them rather than them waiting for anybody else. But, the thing is, there is no word in the English language that describes a late set up in positive terms, even if it is laced with irony.
These are the worst. Parties are a bit like theatre productions in that sense. If you have ever been involved with a drama group then you will know what we mean. The show is always late and never ready on time. In theatre the joke is that all will turn out OK anyway because people don’t know the show. However, if you have guests milling around staff who are still putting the chairs out and drawing the curtains then you have a problem.
When you get in touch with us for some event set up preparation, the first thing we will do is listen and see what you have in place. Often, these jobs will be about us listening to you and then implementing what you have in mind rather than you listening to us tell you what needs to be done. We will look at plans together and rehearse if needs be. Then we will send our staff to the event at the right time and get the job done so that you can worry about much more important things like greeting and mingling.
All the staff we will send your way are fully experienced and ready to chip in. They have all had plenty of time to learn the ropes with background such as serving, cleaning and organisational posts. Their skills are perfectly suited to the task, we make sure of that, and you will find them very helpful on the day. After the job is done, they will leave and then return if you need them to for a clean up job.
